I have 3 children, Sam, Harriet and Joe who have now all left home and although I miss them very much I do enjoy my empty nest.

I have been a part time contractor to the Ministry of Education for 9 years in a role which supports and evaluates schools taking part in positive behaviour programmes.  I first started working for BPM in 2012, it’s great to be back!

I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa. I resonate deeply with Maria Montessori’s philosophy. The importance of following each child individually and allowing children to practice independence makes so much sense in empowering the child. It is an honor to be a part of the very precious moments in a child’s life that make up this incredibly developmental stage of their lives.

I discovered Montessori education for the first time when my three girls attended a Montessori nursery.  It is my belief as a teacher I have a huge responsibility to nurture children’s interest and learning in an environment where they are inspired to investigate and explore. Understanding the importance of seeing children’s individuality and recognising their strengths and abilities is very important to me and my teaching philosophy.

I’m originally from China and moved to NZ in 2015. I have lived in Christchurch for the past five years working in a Montessori Preschool since 2018. I am passionate about  the Montessori philosophy and believe each child is competent, talented and unique. I would like to learn and grow with children and support them to become independent learners.
